Clean and modern hotel in Nara a short distance from the Deer Park. The nearby JW Marriott runs a free shuttle to the deer Park for guests of both hotels. The hotel has great amenities and was immaculately clean. The room was spacious and had good amenities. There is a public bath in the hotel for guests seeking that experience. There is also a 24 hour coin operated laundry in the hotel, great for tourists needing to refresh their travel clothing. Would recommend this hotel for spacious, and well appointed rooms as well as its quiet surrounding area near the City Hall of Nara.

The hotel is new, the rooms are spotless, and everything you need is thoughtfully provided. Having a large public bath is a nice bonus — something many Japanese guests will especially appreciate. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options. In true European hotel fashion, it was wonderful to see not just one but two types of sparkling wine available in the morning. The breakfast staff felt a bit casual and inexperienced at times, but overall the experience was very positive. It’s great to see a European-style hotel in Nara that still embraces the spirit of Japanese hospitality.

Beautiful modern hotel with some cool design touches. The rooms are spacious by Japanese standards and very well outfitted, with complimentary tea, coffee, water and modern amenities. Nice pajamas as well! The facilities are great, including a small kids room with some toys and books. Breakfast was delicious with a ton of variety, emphasizing local Nara products. I did find it cramped during peak times on the Saturday we were there, and not all items were replenished throughout meal service. Location is a bit far from public transit, though a local bus (infrequently) runs to Nara Park and back. Novotel has partnered with the neighboring JW Marriot so you can use their shuttle to Nara Station. Novotel also has a shuttle to Yamato Saidaji station, where you can get the Kintetsu line to Kyoto.

10/10 experience. The staff was really friendly, helpful and patience. We were only going to stay 3 nights but fellnin love with Nara and decided to skip traveling more. Asking for extentions 2 times. They were very kind and tried everything to help us stay in our first room, having to only switch us once on the last nights because the rooms were already fully booked. The fact that they managed to help us stay in that room was already going beyond what was needed with our last minute decisions. Both rooms we stayed in were very clean. For the first time i did not have a heavy need to clean the bathroom which i normally always do in hotels. As someone who comes from hospitality branches and has worked in cleaning as wel as front-office I can honestly say the staff is amazing.

Novotel Nara is a fantastic new hotel. Everything feels brand new, very clean, with beautiful design and great amenities. The room was excellent and very comfortable, and the staff were consistently professional and welcoming. Accor status (Diamond) recognition was outstanding, including access to a great lounge. I stayed on a half-board rate and had dinner at the hotel’s Italian restaurant, where the buffet was great. Overall, this is easily one of the best Novotels I’ve stayed at. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Nara.
