One of the best libraries in Nagareyama city. Great collection of books, nice multimedia support and cozy reading place. Staffs are friendly, some can even speak english and kindly help foreigner to find the books they need. Citizens of Kashiwa-city could also become member. Really recommended.
This library is nestled in a quiet forest. The greenery of the adjacent park is very pleasant. There aren't a huge number of books on the shelves, but the library is relatively quiet and completely free of any noise. You can bring your own books or magazines and immerse yourself in reading, or you can use the tables in the facilities outside the library, where drinks are allowed, giving it a campus-like atmosphere that reminded me of my student days.
This library is conveniently located next to a large park, allowing you to take a walk when you want to take a break from reading. The name "Forest Library" is truly fitting. There are also plenty of desks and chairs in the common areas inside the library, where you can read and write. In short, both the library's services and the surrounding environment are excellent, but the only complaint is that the adjacent road is narrow and congested. If you come from Route 16, you have to take a long detour, and if you come from Nagareyama Road, you have to be prepared for traffic congestion around Unga Station. It's such a comfortable place that I suppose it's worth putting up with.
I still listen to CDs in my car, so being able to borrow them is super convenient, but there aren't any recent ones. Maybe CDs don't even exist anymore. Knitting is also advanced when you have a mobile phone. Books are still the best.
This library, with its charming name, is nestled in a tranquil natural setting. It's just the right size, and has a good selection of books. If you tell them what kind of book you're looking for, or what you'd like to know, they'll kindly search for it and bring it to you, or order a suitable book for you. Even if you don't live in Nagareyama City, you can use it if you live nearby. It's a very comfortable place to relax for a bit.
