L'Entrecôte Singapore River Valley, The Steak & Fries Bistro

Booked myself a table and dined solo at this steak frites restaurant. Location is good and away from the usual touristy area. Well greeted and brought to my table. Order was easy and straight forward, ordered their angus tenderloin in Bleu. Waiter was worried but I told him I take my steaks rare. Salad arrived and the steak was next. Service is fast and the angus tenderloin is how I wanted it and the sauce is very very close to the famous steak frites in Paris. So i had extra fries and it came with extra sauce. Highly recommend to come here if you have cravings for L'entrecôte steak and frites without catching a flight to Paris and waiting 2 hours in queue for it. Just come here its easy and cosy and the steaks won't disappoint. Thank you Kai!

A quaint set up along Mohd Sultan Rd. Good variety of starters but only 2 choice of mains. The terrine of foie gras is rich and smooth, if only it could be enhanced with a bit infusion of alcohol. The accompanying relish also help to bring the dish together. I was advised by the staff to order my steak medium rather than my usual medium rare. And it was advice well heeded, as the meat was nicely medium rare. Had I ordered it medium rare, the meat would have been too rare for me. The meat was good except it was missing a bit of smokey/slightly charred flavour that I always enjoy in my steak. French fries were cooked perfectly. The walnut salad could do with a bit more of dressing though. Profiteroles were also well presented and drench generously in dark chocolate sauce, just that I like my choux skin doughy/soft and not too crunchy/hard. A very relaxed environment with French ballard in the background. The unisex single cubicle toilet could do with a bit of potpourri or air freshener as there is no extraction fan in this windowless space

Was craving for steak frites and this did not disappoint. The restaurant was quiet for a Sunday evening so it’s great if you want to avoid crowds on weekends. Their bread came toasted and fluffy, their foie gras was delicious!

Been to the other outlet and it was our first time trying the River Valley branch. And it didn’t disappoint. Had a lovely dinner with hubby to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Steak was awesome and the house red wine was equally excellent. Serving time was quick. Bread, butter, fries, olive oil and balsamic was free flow. As they focus only on one signature steak dish, I’d say it’s a safe bet coming here any given day for a consistently tasty, no nonsense steak.

Ordered 2 entrées & a steak to share. I was in shocked of the quick service because they served everything practically at the same exact time. Salad, bread, soup, eggs and the steak all at the same time. It was not busy at the time. Maybe I have the wrong impression of the restaurant’s standard. Duxton Hill outlet paced the meal with serving salad, bread, entrées & mains in stages. So kudos to the staff there. French Onion Soup: Was warm. Tasted like beef stock out the box. Barely any taste of caramelised onions, more like boiled softened onions. Cheese was torched, “aburi” style instead of broiled. Egg Mimosa: I can only describe it as weird and barely had any truffle taste. Steak: Was the only thing that was good. Overall, you cant miss with their signature steak.
