Came as they just opened, very attentive service staff and had front row seats to all the cooking. The sourcream and chives chips with caviar blew our minds. You mean this was what Lays and Ruffles tried to emulate? C'mon. Fantastic, fresh and not enough dips for the chips. Can't get enough. Saw our beef tongue sandwich got prepared. Was thinly sliced, braised and hint of smokiness - reminding us of a good pastrami. Delicately flavoured, with a hint of mustard and greatly paired with toasted soft english loaves. Loved how simple but fantastic the dish was, don't know what the mixed reviews were all about. Closed with charred Hokkaido pork shoulders (believe it's kurobuta just by how tender and fatty the pork was). Beautifully simple, greatly complimented with the vertes. Paired with a Loire valley white and Sicilian red, lovely dishes and experience. Highly recommend for special occasions.
Nice ambience! It kindda grew on me. The foie gras toast was out of the world! The foie gras was frozen and shaved onto the toast. And when you bite into the toast, the foie gras melts in your mouth! The heritage chicken got me reconsidering the standards of chicken rice. Hahah! It's really tasty! Worth the 45mins wait! Definitely a place to go for dinner!
I had a wonderful time at Le Bon Funk, especially because of the great service. Richelle was attentive and went the extra mile with recommendations, helping us choose what to get as well as being open about the number of dishes we should order (rightfully so, we were stuffed by the end) and just being an all around spectacular character but all the members of staff were amazing. It was obvious that they love what they do. My favourite dishes out of all that we ordered were the Foie Gras toast and that cheese ice creamβ¦wow. The flavours were melting on my tongue π€ͺ thank you team for the great night!
The signature dishes really live up to their name. Absolutely magnificent - Paradise jelly with foie gras toast, and the beef tongue with gribiche sandwich were highlights. Well-balanced and creative dishes that really make each plate stand out. Donβt judge it based on being super tasty or fine-dining quality. This place shines in its originality and presentation. Chicken is always a tough dish to nail, but I loved the way they presented. The whole globe artichoke is fun and interesting to try, though it might not be for everyone. For dessert, Iranian pistachio cookies and dark chocolate pudding are never enough. The wine selection is huge, including some you rarely see elsewhere. Next time, we wonβt be driving so can fully enjoy tasting their wines π· In fact, every dish is worth exploring, and the place has such a nice vibe. It can get crowded, but itβs definitely worth visiting and experiencing for yourself ! Young and creative chefs, passionate service staffs. Salute to the whole team who made Le Bon Funk happen !
Went here yesterday with my husband and loved it. Recently weβre really into orange wine, so seeing such a great selection of amber wines made us so happy π₯Ή The vibe was chill with great music, and the staff were super attentive. Every dish we ordered was deliciousβour favorites were the sourdough, wagyu carpaccio, and the panna cotta (first time Iβve actually liked one!). Definitely coming back!
