Laifaba Authentic Wood-Fired Roast & Noodles

The standout dish was definitely the char siew. Unlike many places that use pork belly, they use Indonesian bu jian tian (armpit cut), which has a nice balance of lean meat and fat. The fat was rich yet delicate, melting in the mouth without feeling overly greasy. It was easily the best item we ordered and the main reason I would consider returning. However, I found the pricing difficult to justify. Plain tossed egg noodles (no ingredients): $4.80++ Plain tossed duck egg noodles (no ingredients): $5.80++ Quarter roasted London duck: $25.80++ The plain noodles were simply tossed noodles without any ingredients, making the price feel quite steep. The quarter duck was also noticeably smaller than expected for nearly $25.80++, so the value for money wasn't there in my opinion. Overall, the food quality is decent, especially the char siew, but the prices are on an extremely high side. If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend trying the char siew, but be prepared to pay a premium. Personally, I don't mind paying more for good food, but I also expect the portion size and overall value to match the price. This doesn't.

Ordered delivery via Grab. Items were compactly packed and we were later pleasantly surprised that portion size was generous. Every bit of space within the container was efficiently used and items within was not squashed nor destroyed. First time that I had such a small container and the sunny side egg yolk intact. Taste-wise, the rice was soft without being soggy, chilli was superb while the roast was well-smoked and had a fatty layer of goodness. The lard did not taste freshly prepared to me and I would definitely give topping up an add on of lard a miss next time. Noodles had an interesting taste and could do with more sauce. However, all these could be easily overlooked as the roast was just that good. Looking forward to the next order.

Another one of those I gave full stars haa. But I have to say, this is one of the better wonton mee I’ve tasted — especially the roast duck. The duck is excellent, just that the price is easily 1.5x higher than the usual. Normal Noodles are great, though the duck egg noodle is a bit too heavy for me, a bit strong, but still okay. At some point during the meal you can taste quite a overwhelming bit of pork lard — The noodles and wontons are really good, and even the shrimp dumplings are not bad. I also like e that they let you choose the type of bbq pork char Siew — thin, fatty, or mixed — that’s a nice touch. Overall wonton noodle is pretty good But honestly, two pax, one round of food, came up to $57. That’s very, very high for wonton mee meal with quater portion duck Soup is good and service is excellent, always calling you ‘boss, boss, laoban’ haa feeling like ktv and they keep topping up the soup like bak kut teh style. Overall still a solid 4.5 stars, but wah, pricey.

Char Siew is good, soup is excellent. Noodle so so, and the wanton is big but no taste. Service is attentive. But not the company 0rdering system. Atmosphere is toooo noisy, difficult for conversation, too much echo Ordering system not friendly, order online, need to make payment first before processing your order, many details to key and time spend for credit card . At the end still have to ask the staff to process my order. Overall value to price not they as their average noodle price is $16 including service and gst

Came here to try the Char Siu noodles. The prices are definitely at restaurant level, but given that it’s a comfortable air-conditioned eatery, it feels justified for a nice sit-down meal. The noodles themselves were perfectly cooked—springy and with a great bite. I really appreciated that you can actually choose your preferred cut of Char Siu: lean, mixed, or fatty. I went with the mixed meat option, which was the right call—it gave me the best of both worlds with the tenderness of the fat and the texture of the lean. The regular 招牌面 (signature noodles) comes with two dumplings, which was a nice bonus ($12.80 ++) The soup, made from pork bone and scallop, was savory and flavorful. The fact that they allow free refills on the soup is a huge plus! Side note: The iced coffee is yummy and hits the spot, but at $5, it is a little on the pricey side. Overall, a very satisfying bowl of noodles
