To whom it may concern, I am writing to formally dispute certain allegations from a rental dealt with through kodlogy, alongside the charge you are attempting to apply for a “broken table” on our recent campervan hire. The table in question was already damaged when we collected the vehicle. As you can see under the table it was already broken with several screws attempting to fix it. Even the guy who met us to hand over had trouble fitting the table and it fell down. We noted its poor condition immediately on arrival of the first campsite, and it is entirely unacceptable for us to be held liable for pre-existing damage. Additionally, your suggestion that we used the water facilities and that it was “impossible not to” is incorrect. We did not fill the water tank nor use any of the internal water systems. We relied exclusively on campsite facilities and used the van solely for driving and sleeping. Any claim suggesting otherwise is both inaccurate and unfounded. I would further like to dispute the “cleaning charge”. I have spoken to Dominic (the man who was with me on pick up) that we were told that they were sorry they hadn’t had chance to clean the van prior to our hiring as it had been returned that day before we collected it. As such, bottles were left and cupboards were dirty. I am not paying €130 for it to be cleaned when it was given to us in a worse state that what we left it in. It is not our fault you cannot manage your bookings and have it cleaned accordingly before the next client. Frankly, the condition of the van fell far short of the “New 5-star” standard that was advertised. During our hire, we discovered multiple faults including: - A broken kettle (which we replaced with no invoice or charge to the company) - A broken drawer that swung open every time we turned a corner - A very broken door that was insecure - A broken awning which was dangerous (the metal fell down as we attempted to open it, leading us to put it back and it not be put to use. This caused one leg to fall down as we were driving on the highway which was incredibly dangerous, leading us to pull over and fix the issue - A broken blind in the back “bedroom” - One functioning power socket - lack of prior cleaning yet charging us €130 for internal clean. Despite these numerous issues, we chose not to complain during the rental period and made the best of a substandard situation and enjoyed our trip. Indeed, regardless of these issues, we wrote a good review based on our experience of the intended use of the vehicle (driving and sleeping) for our trip, despite its rather extensive issues. Given these facts, we expect this wrongful charge to be removed immediately and the deposit returned fairly. We also request that you review the poor condition of the vehicle supplied to us, which did not reflect the standard or quality we paid for, to ensure a better experience for further clients. Please confirm in writing that this matter has been resolved and that no further charges (as detailed in your email below) will be applied. Whilst this email was already sent, I am further cc’ing Campanda directly to ensure the van is suitable for the next hire.
