Visited KIRISHIMA GREENSHIP icoia and really loved the calm and cozy atmosphere 🌿 It’s such a beautiful space to relax with family or friends. The rooftop garden with views of the Kirishima mountains and the river was especially peaceful and refreshing. A lovely place where nature, design, and good coffee come together perfectly ✨

I heard this was the most beautiful Starbucks in Japan, so I stopped by during my trip to Miyakonojo. It was around 3 PM on a Friday, and the parking lot was almost full. (I was able to park after a short wait.) There seems to be a second parking lot nearby. Inside the Starbucks, there's a large aquarium with koi swimming in it, and tropical plants are planted in a jungle-like style. There's also a small observation deck on the second floor outside. (Some young people were sitting on the ground talking…) I usually ask for extra ice in my Frappuccinos at other Starbucks, but apparently they don't do that here. The finished product was kind of messy and didn't look very appetizing. Currently, it's popular because of its novelty and Instagrammable appeal, but I wonder how it will fare in the future. I feel like people will flock to other Starbucks with delicious drinks and pleasant service. Once is enough. I won't be going again.

Visited in April 2026. This is a collaborative facility between Kirishima Shuzo and Starbucks, which opened on January 27, 2026, in Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture. It's a complex facility blending nature, a cafe, and a shop. The botanical garden, "Meguri no Mori," is a greenhouse-style botanical garden. It's smaller than expected, but the glass walls and high ceilings give it a spacious feel. I was surprised by the size of the koi in the tanks. The rooftop garden, "Miharashi no Oka," is an observation area. The lawn area, "Ikoi no Niwa," is a large grassy space; it would be lovely to enjoy coffee outside in this season. The Kirishima Shuzo direct-sales store, "KIRISHIMA LIFE STORE ipomea," has a sparkling, beautiful interior and sells stylish, slightly pricey items such as shochu, KIRISHIMA BEER, tableware, miscellaneous goods, and food. I went there on Saturday afternoon, and while the first parking lot (35 spaces) was full, the second parking lot (30 spaces) was more than half empty. I had already had coffee at another shop, so my stay was only about 15 minutes, but those who want to enjoy coffee in a stylish space surrounded by greenery could easily spend 30 minutes to an hour there. What I liked most was the entire building with its ship-like shape. The entrance, made with bamboo, was also impressive and beautiful.

You can see the Kirishima Shuzo brewery up close, and there's even a Starbucks. Apparently, they offer tours a little further away, so I should have made a reservation. It's a fun place with a general store, greenhouse, and koi tanks—it's truly unique. From the rooftop and lawn-side seating, you can see mountain ranges in the distance and a river in the foreground. The location is fantastic. There's no roof over the outdoor seating, so the direct sunlight was intense. A parasol is a must.

I was excited to come here after seeing the opening footage on TV. I thought there wouldn't be many customers on a weekday, but there were a lot (´△｀) The parking lot in front of the entrance was full, so I was directed to the second parking lot in the back. Please be careful as you will pass in front of the Kirishima Shuzo truck entrance and exit 🚌. Anyway, both the inside and outside of the store are lovely, so I recommend it even if you have to wait a little.
