Had a fun time doing team bonding over a nice ambience and delicious food. Eye opening for the starter and would come back for their seafood laksa fettuccine cause it’s 💯. Personally not a fan of pork so might not be able to give a good judgement but the Father’s Day set is definitely worth it! Beef, chicken, pork, challand duck all in one platter! Thank you for the amazing service and the place has such nice ambience.
Kiddos brought me and wifey to this place to celebration my birthday in advance. We had a night of culinary nostalgia at Jiak Kim House We had a wonderful evening at Jiak Kim House tonight. Nestled in a beautifully restored 1920s warehouse, the restaurant offers a perfect blend of heritage charm and sophisticated modern Asian cuisine. The Culinary Journey Starter: Tingkat of Memories The meal began with this creative and beautifully presented set. Each bite was a highlight: Herbed Crab Cake with tangy Assam Mayo. Lamb Goulash Croquette paired with a refreshing Mint Coriander Coulis. Spanish Mackerel Otak Otak that was perfectly seasoned. Aburi Wagyu Beef Skewer with a fragrant Green Curry and Sesame finish. The Main Courses The mains were a masterclass in fusion, bringing together premium ingredients with bold, local flavors: Seafood Laksa Fettuccine: A rich and indulgent dish featuring Ulam mixed herb pasta, succulent Obsiblue prawns, and sweet mud crab, all tied together by a decadent laksa bisque and spicy sambal. Black Cod Ponzu Meuniere: The buttery texture of the cod was elevated by a Smoked Butter and Wasabi Ponzu emulsion, served alongside perfectly roasted garlic and herb potatoes. Tandoori Lamb Rack: Using high-quality Lumina lamb, this dish was tender and aromatic, complemented by cumin-roasted carrots and a unique curried lamb mash. Palate Cleanser & Dessert Before moving to the final course, we were served a thoughtful palate cleanser to refresh our senses. We concluded the night with the Snow PEAK, a delightful combination of Moutai Pineapple sorbet, kombucha Scoby and Tropical fruits that provided a bright, refreshing end to the meal. Service & Atmosphere The service was excellent—attentive, warm, and professional. The atmosphere of the historic building added an extra layer of elegance to the entire experience. Verdict Jiak Kim House is a must-visit for anyone looking for a refined dining experience that honors Southeast Asian roots while embracing modern culinary techniques. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the impeccable service!
The place does not feel like a generic “pretty” restaurant. It is set in a restored 1920s warehouse on Jiak Kim Street by the Singapore River, in the former Zouk site. It has warm lighting, marble tables, elegant floral touches, and a calm, polished atmosphere that makes it feel ideal for a date night or a dinner. It was all about balance and detail, rather than big portions and flashy presentation. The bread and soup starter was understated but well done, comforting, nicely presented, and a good way to begin the meal. Probably the most surprising course of the evening, the Root Vegetable Melange was far more interesting than it first sounded, where the green apple sorbet was accompanied with carrot tartare and Golden Beetroot. A dessert with veggies - what a combination! The Wagyu beef was perfectly soft, had a nice sear, and the accompaniments gave it contrast and kept it from feeling too one-note or too heavy. And the gravy was amazing! Overall we really enjoyed our anniversary there :)
My first time here for lunch, ordered a mix of the executive punch and à la carte. Chef Partner TQ used to work at Les Amis. The food was extremely tasty, refined and well executed! The architecture is absolutely beautiful and airy—a meticulously restored 1920s conservation warehouse that used to be where Zouk was. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it.
Deconstructed Singaporean food served at 5x the price but it's pretty delicious! I recommend the ondeh ondeh tiramisu (sooo pandany), the short ribs coffee marmite too is very sinful. Grouper is tender and bouncy. Their starter bread is interesting too
