Went on the three day two night tour of Alta Guajira with History Travelers. From booking and all throughout the tour we received great customer service. It was a great experience. Paola was extremely helpful and so were our driver Franklin and everyone we met from the company. The transportation, food, and hostels were better than we expected. And the price was very fair.

I joined the 3D2N La Guajira tour. The briefing was informative and it was well organised. Our driver Vladimir was excellent, even though the road was very bumpy for most of the journey, he made sure we stopped for breaks and was very accommodating when we wanted to stay longer or shorter at places. We had sufficient time to enjoy the amazing beaches. We learned a lot about the Wayuu people, and participated in the cultural activities which were very interesting.

Had a great trip with History Travellers! The sights were beautiful, and the accommodation and food were both comfortable and absolutely delicious, some of the best fresh fish I’ve ever had. We had an English translator, Joshua, who was amazing. He shared so many great insights and stories about his Wayuu culture. I highly recommend this company, especially if you need an English translator.

La Guijara is considered off the beaten path. I scratch my head wondering why; so many people are missing out on the natural and rugged beauty the region boasts. History Travelers- from owner(Paola) to admin (Juan) to driver and guide- were all fantastic! We were given outstanding service from start to finish. Our driver, Enrique, and bi-lingual guide, Lukas, were professional, kind, punctual, knowledgeable. We were kept safe the whole trip while making sure we were having an unforgettable time. I fell in love with the vast and diverse terrains- one minute you're on salt flats, the next minute, you're driving/walking on rocky desert plains, the next minute you're sandboarding down soft and fine sand dunes, and the next, you're dipping your feet in the most perfect ocean water temperature. And the hot weather was balanced by the wind. But the beauty of its land doesn't compare to the beauty and hospitality of its people and culture. You are met and welcomed with smiles all around. I love the opportunities I had to engage with the locals and learn more about the Wayuu culture through mochila weaving, face painting, dress, food and just way of life. Sure, you may encounter "road blocks" manned by children and the elderly, but these are just reminders that poverty and hardships do exist, and that a simple gift of candy or water will be more than enough to get through. They were not issues at all. Your guide/driver will know and expertly handle this, and it was actually fun! I also fell in love with the hammocks and the colorful mochila bags! I purchased more than 10 to bring home. If I had a place to hang a hammock at home, I would have purchased one, too. The use of water and electricity may at times be limited but what is supplied is more than sufficient. You learn to not take these things for granted. Overall, fantastic trip organized and provided by a fantastic tour operator. Service was top notch! Book them. You won't have regrets.

Fantastic adventure, we were there off season so it was pretty quiet! The accommodation is basic but comfortable. Food is great - lots of choice and if you love fish you will be in heaven!
