Came here for lunch with the family. Had the Grub Burger, Ha Cheong Chicken and Waffle and the Banana Chocolate tart. Food here is a little pricey but is good. Burger and fries were good although I thought the patty of the burger could be a little fattier and softer but still was a pretty good burger overall. Waffle and chicken were good; nice take on a classic. Wasn’t too crowded at 11.30 but crowd filled up the place pretty quickly from 12pm.
Came to GRUB at Junction 8 and tried their Chicken & Waffles — super worth it! The fried chicken was huge, crispy, and well-seasoned with a nice spicy kick. Waffles were golden and fluffy, not soggy at all. Outlet is super convenient at Junction 8, right beside Bishan MRT. Casual vibes, clean, and service was quick even during lunch crowd. Staff were friendly and checked in on us. Pricing is reasonable for mall + portion size. Great spot for comfort food. Will be back to try their burgers next!
Nice little cafe situated strategically opposite Bishan mrt station at Junction 8. It serves brunch and main meals of lunch and dinner with a good range of Western dishes. Service is very attentive and efficient, with young energetic waiters. Enjoyed the bacon and waffle with maple syrup as it came with a lightly baked pineapple slice. The chilli crab pasta was very tasty without overpowering the tongue. Good drink to try is the Rose Gold latte, which really had the rose flavour touch that is just right. Other drinks are average.
Dropped by Grub at Junction 8 (located outside, facing the Bishan MRT station) for lunch. Overall, it was a very pleasant meal, though the bill does add up even for the lunch sets. Here is the breakdown of the experience: The Good: Hot Cappuccino (+$3 Lunch Set Upgrade): Special mention goes to the coffee! Frankly, I didn’t expect a casual bistro like this to serve such high-quality coffee. It was robust, well-made with nice latte art, and absolutely worth every cent of the upgrade. Truffle Forest Mushroom Soup (+$2 Lunch Set Add-on): I definitely recommend adding this on. It was creamy, flavorful, and a great starter. The Main: Grub Cheeseburger: A solid burger overall. The combination of the melted cheese and the bun was really good. However, I felt the beef patty was just a tad too dry. If it were slightly juicier, it would have been perfect. The Price: While the food quality is high, it is a bit on the pricey side. The base lunch set is $18++, but with the surcharges for premium mains (like the burger at +$4) and upgrades for drinks and soup, our bill came up to nearly $78 for 3 people. Verdict: Reliable quality and surprisingly great coffee. A good spot if you don't mind paying a little extra for a casual lunch.
This place needs to have everyone present before being offered a table for the exact number of people, perhaps due to this smaller branch at Junction 8. There were 3 of us and I ordered the Spicy Pesto Chicken Pasta at a normal spice level. Hmm I think it was rather bland for my liking, but thanks for the service.
