The prison museum which sounded a bit depressing turned out to be a fine experience and worth seeing in Horsens. They have converted a prison into a well maintained museum Allowing the children also to interact freely and understand what it is all about.

This prison museum was incredibly interesting and left a deep impression. I found every section engaging, with new and informative displays around each corner. The basement was the most impactful part for me — especially the photo of a former prisoner, which really stayed with me. Most of the written information is available in English, making it easy to follow along. However, the films are all in Danish, so keep that in mind if you don’t speak the language. Overall, a powerful and well-designed museum that I definitely recommend visiting.

We came here during the medieval festival around August every year. They made it looked it really during the medieval era. There were plays,dances and activities for visitors to try. Plenty of drinks and Foods also to taste. Kids will definitely enjoy here ada there were many activities for them and some playgrounds. With plenty of parking space but better to be early as it gets full after lunch already.
