I've had a great experience working with E-Housing and their agent Erina Katsumata when looking for a new apartment this spring. We've had an initial call where I expressed my preferences and was shown available properties, after which we stayed in regular contact as I was considering the options. It was a busy season for renting and apartments were limited and going away fast, so she would consistently follow up with me to suggest newly available listings that would fit my needs. We've met several times to view the apartments in-person, and I ended up applying for and signing a lease contract for the place I now live in. Everything was timely and professional, the contract was explained to me in great detail and I felt clear throughout the whole process. I am very satisfied and can recommend this agency and their services.

She was super responsive over text, even before we touched down in Tokyo. She’s fluent in both English and Japanese so there’s no problem communicating at all. Once we communicated our needs to her, she would arrange for several viewings in one day. After which, she always took the initiative to find new apartments for us afterwards. Though we have changed some of our requirements along the way, she was completely understanding and always had a positive attitude. You can tell she’s a very hardworking individual with high work ethic. 💪 On the side of e-housing as a platform, the UIUX of the website is very easy and intuitive to search for apartments and filter by the different parameters, unlike so many other websites in Japan. I would say it’s a reliable platform to use if you’re looking for mid to high range rental Tokyo apartments.

He helped me not only with the vetting process and contract, but also with coordinating the moving company, which was incredibly helpful since I do not speak Japanese. What I appreciated the most is that he did all of this with a great attitude, patience, and care. Before this, I had a viewing with Ken Corporation and felt I was not really being supported. The experience with Kay was completely different. He made the process much easier, clearer, and less stressful. I would highly recommend Kay to anyone looking for a real estate agent in Japan, especially if you need support in English.

From the very beginning, when I was preparing to relocate to Tokyo, Kay was prompt, responsive and explained the intricacies of the Japanese housing market really well! He also took the time to understand what I was looking for and arranged multiple viewings within a week. After shortlisting an apartment, he helped in translating the contract details in English and made sure I understood the rental clauses, helped in setting up general utilities and acted as a liaison with the property management company to solve any problems that would pop up.
