First of all, I love the Hotplate Fiery Sambal Squid & Prawns with Petai. It is a "must" order for my every visit to the restaurant. My wife likes the Herbal Roasted Duck (with 3 different flavours of sauce). The crispy roasted duck skin, glistening mahogany, shatters on the first bite, offering a rich, savory crunch. The duck meat underneath is tender, juicy and deeply flavourful with a savory richness that makes it distinctly satisfying. From our various gathering at the restaurant, many of the dishes that we ordered were also well cooked and delicious. Note: If u are going to this restaurant for a dinner on a weekend between 6pm - 7pm, booking a reservation is necessary, otherwise you and your friends will be together with hungry diners in a long queue.

Had dinner at Dian Xiao Er yet again - this is one of my family’s go-to spots whenever we want a cosy & fuss-free meal :) We got the 'healthier set' for 6 pax, and it’s really quite well-balanced. Comes with brown rice, soup, herbal roast duck, fish, veggies, eggs, and a chicken dish. I personally enjoyed the soup and their signature herbal roast duck the most. The soup was super comforting, and the duck was tender, flavourful, and not too greasy! Always a must order for us 😋 The other dishes were simple but done well, very homely flavours, and portions were adequately generous. Only thing is that their dishes leaned on the sweeter side, which might get a little surfeiting for some. Oh yes! And a nice little touch was when they served us free shou tao (longevity buns) with lotus seed paste since it was my sister's birthday month :)

Was there for lunch and ordered the roast duck (half), thunder tea fried rice (small) and cereal prawns (small). Order via the QR code and noticed the small difference in pricing for member and non-member. The membership sign up is via the Dian Xiao Er app. The thunder tea fried rice was good as it has plenty of vegetable in it. The cereal prawns (deshelled) were not that spicy though spicy option was selected. The tea refill was done promptly once you manage to catch one of the staff's attention. Can return the unopened wet towel to the staff before the meal if not intending to use, as it is chargeable.
