I'm not a fan of Mexican by a long shot, but the food here is legit not bad. Ordered a fish taco and a chicken quesadilla to share with my wife for dinner. Both were not bad, I especially liked the fish taco. It's a battered fish in a taco, basically fish and taco instead of fish and chips. The chicken quesadilla was not bad too, but had the familiar beany taste in Mexican food that I'm not a fan of. Still bearable though. We didn't order any drinks as none of the beer now wines got a chord with me. Service was decent, they sent complimentary water. Ambience is pretty good too, the restaurant isn't very big though.
Went here for dinner recently with my bestie and had a really good experience. The location is super convenient, just a short walk from Somerset MRT. Food: We ordered fish tacos and beef nachos. The fish tacos was such a pleasant surprise! The fish was really fresh and flavourful. Honestly very delicious. The beef nachos was great for sharing too. The place is clean and comfortable, and we ended up hanging out for a few hours chitchatting our time away. The staffs were friendly and welcoming. Special shoutout to Daniel, who was especially nice and attentive ππ»
Had a great night out at Chimi with my best friend. Splashed in hot pink and turquoise, its open-air bar style seating creates a casual atmosphere. However, it can get a bit noisy because there is a lot of foot traffic around the restaurant. Tables are also placed close to each other, which reduce privacy and comfort. We ordered: π½π€π§π§ππππ€ πππ¨π ππππ€π¨ Beer battered white fish, served on soft flour tortillas, dressed with mango salsa, pickled shallots, jalapeΓ±o mayo, crema and red cabbage. Fried to a nice golden-brown hue, the fish was soft on the inside but crunchy on the outside without being greasy or heavy. All the toppings also complimented one another perfectly. This is definitely one of the best fish tacos in Singapore! πΎππ§π£π πΌπ¨πππ π½πππ ππ€ππππ πππππ€ The nacho is equally good as well. Crunchy tortilla chips, flavourful beef and loaded with cheese, pico de gallo, salsa verde and guacamole. Simply yet comforting. But I wish there are more sauce provided. Food was overall, delicious. Service was friendly but there were still moments when I feel uncomfortable as we were constantly asked to order drinks. Otherwise, everything was just perfect.
somehow the food didnt taste the same / as good as another outlet i visited. but it's perfect for a quick bite and drinks after work! esp the monday $6 margaritas with no time limitation!
Review: Chimi's is a wonderful place to hang out with family. The plain cheese quesadillas were a bit plain but super cheesy. The dipping sauce that they gave along with the quesadillas went very well with the quesadillas. The Tacos were very nice and flavourful. Soft shell wrap and the chicken was juicy and flavourful. The Fish taco was delicious and juicy. The Fish was soft on the inside but crunchy on the outside. The Chimi Changa was crispy on the outside, full of gooey cheese, spices and flavours. The Oysters were fresh and juicy.Overall, an amazing place for family gatherings and a place that has amazing Mexican food.
