I’d always noticed the long queues whenever I walked past this store, so I finally decided to give it a try for dinner—and it didn’t disappoint. The food had a distinct smoky, grilled flavour, and the texture was nicely tender. There’s also a salad bar offering noodles, greens, and desserts like watermelon, orange, and coffee jelly, which adds a nice variety to the meal. Price-wise, it’s on the higher side since each person needs to order a set, but I’d recommend upgrading your white rice to the salmon ikura rice—it’s definitely worth it. Overall, it’s a great spot if you’re looking to treat yourself to a satisfying dinner. Just be prepared for some waiting time during peak hours, as the seating capacity is quite limited.
Delicious grilled fish restaurant with a generous selection of unlimited salad bar. The best fish on the menu is miso cod. Their saba and chicken teriyaki is average. For dessert, the coffee jelly with creamer from the salad bar is delectable. Bitter and soft coffee jelly paired with a sweet milky creamer is a great way to end the meal. The main drawback would be the slow moving and long queue. Diners have a 90 mins limit and most people would stay there the entire time, and given the small space and limited seats, the queue moves very slowly. If you want to dine here, it’s best to come and start queuing before it opens, 5-10 minutes before should do.
This Japanese restaurant, located in the basement of the mall, specialises in grilled fish dishes. It came recommended by a friend—especially if you’re someone who enjoys a good salad spread, as the salad bar is included with every main course. During lunch, the restaurant was about half full, possibly due to prices being slightly on the higher side for a weekday lunch crowd. That said, the quality justifies it. The fish was well-prepared and nicely grilled, with good flavour and texture. The rice was also done just right—simple but satisfying. A highlight is definitely the salad bar, which offers a wide variety beyond just greens, including pasta and fruits. It adds good value and variety to the meal. Average spending is around $22–$25 per person after GST, which feels reasonable—especially if you make full use of the salad bar. Overall, a solid option for a balanced Japanese meal, particularly if you enjoy having fresh sides alongside your mains.
I’ve been here several times and generally quite satisfied, which is why this recent visit felt a bit disappointing. The grilled chicken usually done well - juicy and tender, but this time was dry and rubbery. I’m hoping it was just a one-off, as it hasn’t been my experience before. That said, the free-flow salad bar continues to be the highlight for me. There’s a great variety of fresh ingredients, and everything tastes lovely and well-prepared. It really adds value to the dining experience and keeps me coming back. One more thing — the seats badly need to be replaced. They’re worn out, torn, and quite uncomfortable for diners Overall, it’s still a decent spot for Japanese grill & salad bar, but I do hope they can improve on consistency and refresh the seating soon.
Honestly, my review is 4.67/5! Was recommended by a friend when I had a salad craving one day. There was a queue, but the free flow salad experience was fun and a vibe. Give it a shot yourself and you’ll see ☺️ Fish was enjoyable and yummy of course.. Tip: buy boneless fish if you don’t like bones!
