The experience we had at Char. B was extremely pleasant! The auntie at the counter was very friendly and provided recommendations for what to eat. She suggested that we try this very delicious claypot noodle soup that reminded me of cny reunion dinner hotpot!! Would come back again for the vibes and savoury soup
Ordered the claypot mee hoon kueh - comforting, flavourful, and nicely done. What made the visit stand out was the service. For Mother’s Day, the owner added complimentary shark fin to one of our claypots. They also kindly gave an extra portion of you mian for my child, again no charge. We actually asked to pay for it, but they insisted it was on the house… really genuine gesture. Food is good, but the hospitality is what makes this place memorable. Will definitely be back to try their BBQ items next time 👍
We ordered a shared bowl of mee hoon kueh. the meal was very delicious and hearty. I found that the soup broth was cooked exceptionally well and it was particularly flavorful. the minced meat, meatballs and salmon strips were cooked tenderly and it was delicious too. portions were also generous, especially with the vegetables and the entire Claypot bowl cost us about $15. As such, I would say the value for money is definitely present. Esther, the person tending the store, was also extremely friendly and offered us tissue papers and fruit tea on the house. she was also very hospitable and had a friendly demeanour. Just a lovely person in general. would definitely recommend this place!
Food was great and generous serving! The meat was grilled to perfection and the noodles were chewy as well. The auntie was very friendly too! Will definitely visit again!
Had a gathering of 12 pax at Char.B last night. Managed to contact yacht Chef Anthony via WA to make us a special booking. Chef was so nice to offer us a custom menu for a budget of $250. The food turned out to be amazing with fresh ingredients and so tasty. There were grilled fishes, sausage, beef, lamb, stingray, crab and we had also a fish soup based hotpot with red grouper, prawns, tanghoon, hand pulled mee hoon kuay, and deep fried egg. Greatly appreciative of the chef’s hard work and friendly welcoming gesture. Parking only became harder due to a heavy downpour. We were seated indoors under the shelter instead of outside under the sky, which would have been ideal and windy in the evenings.
