First time trying their food in Jem specifically. Ordered their crab, tagliatelle pasta (SGD $26++). A bit of floral taste with lemon cream sauce. (Find it too strong rosemary/thyme not sure?) Not really per say I am into this kind of unique profile taste but definitely alright to give it a try. Ordered Margherita pizza (SGD $17++) - although looks simple but taste great! Fresh tomato paste and the basil leaves and cheese is a good pairing π― (Best to eat hot!) Also ordered Truffle pizza (SGD $30++) - very generous truffle but after a while find it a little bit overpowering but still good! Honestly go for their pizzas - chewy and fire baked on the spot! π₯
Ordered the Cacio e Pepe ($16), Crab Tagliatelle ($26), and Margherita Pizza ($17). The Cacio e Pepe was good. Generous with cheese and black pepper, gives it that bold, punchy flavour youβd expect. It's more towards that richer and indulgent version, and that makes it satisfying (for me) if you enjoy stronger flavours. The Margherita Pizza stood out for me. The dough is soft, airy, and slightly chewy, more of a modern, well-fermented style rather than a crispy base. Some people might prefer a firmer crust, but I'd say this shows theyβve got their dough hydration and fermentation pretty dialled in hahaha. If you like fluffy-style pizzas, this hits the spot. The Crab Tagliatelle, unfortunately, was the weak link. The sauce came across watery and diluted, lacking depth and richness. Here, it felt like the sauce didnβt come together properly, and it ends up tasting flat. Stick to the classics, they clearly execute those better. The more experimental or βfancyβ dishes donβt quite land.
Chef Antonio's Newpolitan pizzas live up to the hype. The Marinara is a stripped-back classic with San Marzano tomato, garlic and olive oil on an airy, chewy crust that's been fermented for 48 hours. No cheese, no frills, just confident simplicity. The Pesto is the standout. Basil pesto, roasted yellow tomatoes, stracciatella, pine nuts and Parmigiano Reggiano come together in a creamy, herbaceous combination that's hard to fault. Both were excellent. Prices are fair for the quality, with pizzas starting from around $15, though listed prices exclude service charge and GST so expect a bit more at the till. The music runs a touch loud for easy conversation, but the staff were friendly and accommodating throughout. Well worth a visit if you're in the west.
Had such a great experience here! The highlight for me was definitely the desserts, the tiramisu was rich and well-balanced, the panna cotta was super smooth, and the pistachio ice cream was sooo good (not too sweet, just right). The truffle pizza was honestly the star of the show though β superrrr generous with the truffle and packed with flavour. You can really smell it the moment it arrives ππ The pastas were nice too, but Iβd personally come back more for the pizza and desserts π₯Ή Also wanted to thank Precious from the service crew, she was really friendly, attentive, and made the whole dining experience even better!! She would also come back to check on us to check if we were okay with the food. Would definitely come back again!!!!
Tried this place for the first time after my mum and daughter recommended it to me and I decided to give it a shot despite the long queue because they said it was very good. We came during dinner time and the queue took about 1 hour before we were seated, so if you are not patient, I would honestly suggest avoiding peak dinner hours. Also, do take note that no reservations are allowed. We ordered 2 pizzas, a salad, and the Funghi Tagliolini. The Prosciutto pizza was really very good and definitely the highlight for me. The Margherita was decent but felt quite normal. The Funghi Tagliolini was good too, while the salad was just average. Service was great, pricing was reasonable, and the dining session was 75 minutes. Overall, still a worthwhile try, especially if you do not mind waiting.
