Had such a wonderful dinner here! Everything we tried was so good. The Surf & Turf was definitely a highlight, the beef ribs were incredibly tender. I also really enjoyed the udon carbonara and mapo tofu fries. The carbonara was rich and creamy, and the fries had a nice spicy kick to it! I tried their cocktail, Drunk Matchakra, which has a subtle hint of matcha, really interesting and surprisingly light. My friend had the Rumour Banana and loved it as well. We ended our meal with berries waffle and it was so good, and goes really well with the ice cream. The ambience was great too, it’s a really nice spot for a date night or a casual gathering with friends, highly recommend!
Came here on a Thursday afternoon for late lunch. The place was not busy during the time. Ordered the TomYam tagliatelle. It was a beautiful dish with 2 big prawns, ikura. Very tasty and the portion is perfect for one person. The cutlery and plates were beautiful too. Had the light affogato. Not bad. Water is also served free The service was also very good. I chose this place because of my dog. We sat outside and the staff asked if I want the fan. She served water with ice for my dog. It is quite pricey but worth it as the food, service and atmosphere is good. Would definitely come back again without my dog so I can sit indoors.
Had dinner with our friends here for a birthday celebration. The place is cozy and got chill vibes. The food is a fusion which makes it interesting. The portions are good for sharing as well. The service staff are all alert in refilling our drinks and checking on our food. Ordered watercress salad, pork (which is so tender by the way), the mapo tofu lasagna, the roasted duck sandwich (very flavourful) and the pizza that was not able to take photo but also good. Would recommend to our friends too.
Bites & Brews A popular Shanghai F&B chain located in Joo Chiat. The rustic appearance with Peranakan-inspired tiles, recycled wooden furnishings, vintage lamps etc, will bring you back to a nostalgic era of the city. As for the food, the concept is “East meets West” fusion menu. We enjoyed the foods. Friendly and good service, good spot to spend your slow and lazy weekend here.
Tried the mapo tofu fries, beef ragu pasta and the ham & fig pizza. Everything slayed so hard… The pasta texture was on point. The fries were soaked in sauce and it wasn’t spicy too. The pizza dough was chewy and the amount of toppings flooded the dough. Overall, really great dining experience and the service staff were friendly too.
