I'm self-employed and own a small café in Gijón. I don't know much about the digital world. We received this grant for the digital kit, which they helped us apply for. We had an initial meeting so they could explain how the kit worked, but it became clear that they were only interested in collecting money from the city council. They didn't care at all if it was something truly useful for small businesses. In fact, the first thing they mentioned was the large companies they work with, implying that we were just pocket change in their business. A few days later, they contacted me to sign the documents so they could work on our website. I told them we were going to receive information from other companies that do the same thing, and their response was that I was too difficult, so they weren't going to work with us anymore. We're difficult because we wanted to see if there were better options elsewhere? They don't seem to mind that we were rejected for not silently accepting their terms, which included extra charges besides the kit. In my ignorance, I thought these were basic things, like uploading photos to our website. They upload, I think, six photos, and if I want any more, I have to pay extra. There were many other things we didn't understand, so we decided to listen to others like them to see if everything they charged us in addition to the kit is normal. Hopefully, this company will be a little more humane and accessible to those of us trying to improve for our clients.
