A true gem near Great World City. Staying at Great World City Serviced Apartments, we have decided with my wife to explore the restaurants just nearby and this is how we have discovered this true gem. Finally a crab cake with 95% crab meat, pasta which are really al dente and so tasty, an octopuss where the flesh is really delicate, soft though not chewy (really a unique and exceptional cooking). We engaged into a passionate conversation with Gabriel the Head Chef who has really a passion for cooking and for chosing really well his ingredients and making sure that the flavours are really excellent without adding any sugar or other additive that you get way too often in other places to hide that the cooking expertise is not at the same level. Definitely we will come back regulalry either the 2 of us or with friends to share this amazing address.
From the truffle perfumed Amuse Bouche till Tiramisu dessert, Chef Gabriel's cooking left us in a state of sheer bliss! Crabcake was packed with tasty crabmeat and the sauce was all umami goodness! Pork Ragout Tagliatelle was a perfect delight & Wagyu Beef Cheeks was cooked to perfection - tender & wonderfully flavourful. I wished I had enough tummy for the degustation menu which my friend had.. 8 courses of sheer delight, & the Octopus was wonderfully chargrilled & very tender! My friend had the Sakura Ebi Capellini & the beef tenderloin... I had a taste and will make sure I order those dishes as well nexr time! It's a intimate and cozy little resturant which delivers service of a quality which showcases the pride they have in their food! 10/10!!!
Nestled at the ground floor of a residential area, this restaurant served Italian cuisine with a twist. The venue was intimate, with royal green wall & simple decor. For the protein, noted that the cut not as beefy as other cuts, it was tender. The sides matched well with the protein & the lil charred note provided a pleasant flavour. Perhaps the sauce could be more savoury. Their aglio e olio had a modern twist, instead of parsley, cilantro was utilised. An interesting rendition, touch more chili flakes would be even better, pasta could probably be firmer imo. The Capellini was infused with Japanese elements, which was umami yet light. Soup was delighyful, thought the ingredients were harmony together. The Tiramisu was loaded with alcohol which was possibly higher than alot. A nice dessert to wrap up the meal.
Great food, nice ambience, reasonably priced. (Great retro music to boot) Green-pea soup one of the best soup, nice crisp thinly stripped crispy bacon, croutons and egg… Wah-seh… Chef Gabriel was also super friendly. Definitely on my list of go-to restaurants hereon…
I was at 8picure for a hosted media lunch but wow the food!!! Everything really surprised me (in a good way) from the starter all the way to the mains! Flavours were rich and my fav has to be chef Gabriel’s crab cake 🦀 for sure! You Must Try it for yourself!! The sauce that’s painstakingly created by simmering it over 7-9 hours was mind blowing! The texture of the crab cake was really good and fibrous too! 💯 The finishing tiramisu had a bit too much alcohol for me though (purely personal preference). If you like alcohol, you may enjoy it! 👌
