I attended a seminar on "How to Use Google Maps." I serve as the chief priest of a temple in Nagano City, and recently it's not uncommon for people seeking advice about funerals or memorial services, or those wishing to "connect with Buddhist teachings," to use their smartphones to search for temples on a map. In today's world, where the traditional ties of local and blood are fading, I feel that digital maps can also serve as an important "gateway" for creating new "temple ties." I've been thinking, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic, that raising awareness of temples is like lighting a light for people in need, letting them know "there's a place where you can find peace of mind." Actually, I've been considering using AI to address this issue recently, but I was feeling stuck, and that's when I received the invitation to this seminar. Although it was only 60 minutes, Representative Yamaguchi's easy-to-understand presentation and actual usage tips gave me some ideas for improvement! I look forward to visiting again in the future when more seminars are announced. Thank you to Representative Yamaguchi and all the staff.
