I'm writing this to share some of the disappointments I experienced while using Collectworks, a shared office space within La Casa Hotel, on a six-month long-term contract. I initially signed a long-term contract without much consideration, citing its proximity to my home, and now that's my biggest regret. First, let's talk about the space. Contrary to the single-room photos on the website, the actual space provided was quite small, roughly the size of a study room desk. The contract was signed without sufficient explanation. From the outset, I was deeply disappointed by the discrepancy between the description and the actual space. If you only consult the website, you'll be disappointed. Furthermore, the single-room I used was located right next to a large conference room, so the noise from the meetings was directly transmitted. Many users were on calls, making soundproofing virtually impossible. Ultimately, I had to wear a headset at all times, significantly reducing my ability to concentrate as a private workspace. The facilities also continued to be inconvenient. The ceiling lights couldn't be individually controlled, so I had to use them in the dark late at night. At 11 p.m., the entire seating area was turned off. When I expressed my inconvenience, I received a curt, "Just turn the lights back on." After I raised the issue again, it took a week for the actual lights-out time to be adjusted. I wondered if it was really that late...;;; The heating and cooling systems were also integrated into the system, making individual control difficult. Summer was especially hot. Even on days when heat waves were reported, I requested adjustments to the heating and cooling schedules, only to receive the same curt, unfriendly response: "We can't adjust the temperature. Bring your own fan." This made summer service extremely difficult. The biggest disappointment I felt was the management team's response. The operations team manages all deliveries, but since there were frequent deliveries after the operations team left work at 6 p.m., I politely requested the team leader to allow me to pick up the packages myself. The team leader then responded with a serious expression, "You'll look like a thief." This remark left me deeply embarrassed and offended. Afterwards, I again asked the operations team about leaving it in front of the door, but they declined, implying it was a hassle. I had another unpleasant experience. The toilet in the public restroom was frequently clogged. I never raised the issue with the operations team or took any action regarding the cause. Nevertheless, just because I frequently used that floor, the operations team leader immediately gave me a curt, "You need to flush the water properly," just because I was on that floor. I was deeply embarrassed and offended by this response, which assumed responsibility and blamed the user without verifying the facts. The tone and expression of the voice, which placed all the blame on the customer, were still vivid in my memory, and I couldn't help but feel offended. Furthermore, I had a conference room booked until 6:00 PM, but the team leader asked me to leave before that time because of his own closing time. In another instance, while using the common area, the team leader and a first-floor Upia Furniture employee occupied the sink for an extended period of time and engaged in a private exchange of insults, leaving me waiting for a long time. Furthermore, when I was working on my personal project in the shared space, I felt a sense of intimidation, as they kept giving me glances and making me feel uncomfortable. One day, a group of outside space and furniture tour teams arrived without prior notice, causing a sudden surge in congestion. I had to leave, but no prior notice or action was taken. It was frustrating to see the team leader not even notice my uncomfortable departure. Inquiries were also a constant source of discomfort. The shared office's operations team consists of just the team leader and two employees. I repeatedly witnessed the two whispering and talking behind my back after I'd complained or raised an issue. While I couldn't see the specifics of the conversation, I felt like my inquiry was being treated as a side story, which made me hesitate to make any further requests. Most disappointingly, despite the shared office not being a busy environment, whenever I brought up an issue during my stay, the team leader repeatedly responded with an "annoying" expression and attitude, rather than an attempt to resolve the issue. The management's attitude, which prioritized criticism and defensive responses over problem-solving, significantly eroded trust. In addition, the stories of the management team's unfriendly service and lack of responsibility appear to be more than just my personal experience. I've already seen repeated complaints about the management team's attitude in the local community, leading me to believe that this may be a structural management issue. If you're considering using a shared office space after reading this article, I recommend thoroughly comparing it with other shared offices in the Iljik-dong and Soha-dong areas before making your decision. Collectworks isn't cheap, and I didn't experience a corresponding level of satisfaction with the service or management. If you're planning to use a shared office space in Gwangmyeong City, I recommend carefully comparing not only the location but also the management style, customer service, and services provided. This is because various issues are bound to arise when using a shared office space. If problems arising in a space requiring long-term use aren't properly resolved, it can be stressful for users. If you can travel outside the city, I recommend considering a large, well-equipped co-working space like Fast Five or WeWork. I've used both Fast Five and WeWork in the past, and the management team was generally friendly, and the regular events and community activities left many fond memories. The system was well-organized, and I was highly satisfied with the snacks and shared services. On the other hand, at Collectworks, milk is only provided during weekday mornings and is not replenished after the stock runs out. Milk supply is cut off on weekends. Cereal is also mostly replenished during weekday mornings, making it difficult to use in the afternoons or on weekends. I've never seen a co-working space with such a limited supply of milk and cereal. Based on my experience with several co-working spaces, I found the basic shared services to be quite disappointing from a user perspective. This difference was even more pronounced because other co-working spaces seemed to make efforts to increase user satisfaction through relatively stable snack offerings, events, and sponsorships. With the growing number of co-working spaces near Gwangmyeong Station, Collectworks felt more disappointing in its overall management and user experience than in the space itself. I hope this article will be helpful to those considering using the space in the future, and I sincerely hope the management team will consider making improvements.

A co-working space located in the La Casa Hotel building at Gwangmyeong Station. It isn't a branded co-working space like WeWork or Pathfive, but perhaps because it is operated by a furniture company, the space layout and products are truly luxurious. If you move in, you also receive discounts on the hotel, gym, bowling alley, storage, and more... It's great.

Why do they always turn on the noisy vacuum cleaner and clean around 2 o'clock, when they should be working hard? They've been vacuuming for an hour in the area near the 5th floor entrance, so I got so annoyed that I left. Is the vacuum cleaner just playing around or actually cleaning? I keep seeing this every time I go. Has the boss ever seen this in a regular office?

I was working at Collect Works but had no choice but to leave because I needed a separate space. It is quiet and the facilities are excellent, and above all, the managers are incredibly kind. If I hadn't been in a situation where I needed to store a large amount of props, I wouldn't have left and would have stayed forever haha. The space is excellent for the price, so if you are looking for a shared office in Gwangmyeong or the Gyeonggi area, I think this would be a great option.
